ARE YOU A YOGA TEACHER WORKING WITH STUDENTS THAT: Have ongoing physical limitations?
Cannot get down or up from the floor? Want to start a yoga practice but would like a gentler entry into the world of yoga?
Have had a mat practice, yet sustained an injury and would like to continue in an appropriate yoga practice while they are recovering?
Used as a prop in a chair yoga class, the chair supports the body in seated and standing postures to find safe alignment as we journey towards better flexibility, stamina, posture, strength and peace of mind.
During this two day training we will cover: - Special considerations when working with the chair to support healthy alignment. - Pranayama and its importance in any yoga practice. - Physical yoga postures using the chair as support while sitting as well as standing. - The use of different types of alignment cues to support varied learners. - Sequencing for chair yoga. - And more!!
With Kristen Orsini, RYT, RMT, Certified Ageless Grace® Educator
Kristen has been working with seniors and those needing physical supports since 2011. She studied chair yoga with Lore Kent from Lore Kent's Long Island Chair Yoga and received her 200 Hour Refined Flow Yoga Teacher Training from Absolute Yoga. She is a Certified Ageless Grace® Educator, facilitating the "21 simple tools for lifelong comfort and ease™" that teacher and Ageless Grace® founder Denise Medved created toward her goal of changing the way people view aging in America. Kristen loves watching the improving postures and physical alignment of her regular yoga students and adores even more the stories they share about how they have taken their yoga off the mat and out of the chair, finding more joy, awareness and connection in their lives.
Tuition: $285. A manual will be provided and certificate to be presented upon completion of the weekend.

Grab your journal and yoga mat for a renewing afternoon of exploration, beauty and reflection.
We will combine our yoga practice with journaling to embrace our creativity, talents and abilities as we dive deeper into our essence. Many of the asanas practiced will promote letting go, inward focus, courage, balance and expansion. This workshop will provide you with many ideas and writing prompts to make journaling fun and easy. All are welcome! Even if you are new to yoga or journaling, this workshop is geared to all levels. All you need is the willingness to be open to exploring your mind and body in a safe and supportive environment.

Learn the basics of mindfulness meditation, how to practice it, and how you can incorporate it into life to relieve stress and create more well-being.
This class is designed for anyone looking to begin a meditation practice or someone who would like to deepen their current practices.

DEBORAH DeBETTA is a teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) where she studied at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness. She studied under Dr. Jon Kabat- Zinn and Dr. Saki Santorelli in Mind-Body Medicine, and completed the intensive formal training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and continues to deepen her understanding with silent retreats and continuing educational studies. Deborah is the creator and founder of Mindfulness Based Physical Education, and has created and taught Mindfulness programs throughout Long Island for teachers, students, administrators and parents. Her extensive education includes a MA in physical & health education, BA in Psychology and Special Ed/Elementary Ed, 200hr Registered Yoga teacher, and a Reiki level 2 practitioner.
